Mrs. Dolly Mae Abney, 38, a native of Fountain County who during WWII was a taxicab driver in this city, died at 11 o'clock Thursday night at Culver Hospital. She had been ill since May. Born May 22, 1912, Mrs. Abney was the daughter of John and Rosanna Wilson Jones. She was married twice, first in February 1930 to Ernest Fairfield. The second marriage was to Leroy Abney. She was a member of the Nazarene Church. The fmaily home is at 811 1/2 Voris Street. Surviving are the husband, a son, Jack Fairfield, a twin sister, Mrs. Dorothy Brown, another sister, Estella Burkhalter of Mellott, four brothers, Russell Jones of Mellott, Henry and Cleo both of this city and Emory Guy Jones of Texas ande several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son and a brother. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Nazarene Church with burial at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery, Rev. William Eck will officiate. Friends may pay their respects at the Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home. - kbz
