Wayne Lawson Abernathy, 38, died Sunday at his home in Covington following an illness of 4 months. Death was attributed to a brain tumor. Mr. Abernathy was born near Cates, Oct 7, 1918 son of Harrison E. and Mary Lawson Abernathy. He married Camen Dale Hines on November 16, 1940 and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Waynette Dale at home and his mother of Covington. Mr. Abernathy was a graduate of Perrsyville HS and attended Indiana Central. He served 3 years with the AF. He was member of Covington Baptist Church and Fulton Banta Post 291, American Legion. He resided since his discharge from the service in Covington where he was employed as general trucker. Services were held at 2:30 p..m Tuesday at the 1st Baptist Church, with Rev. Glen Ray officiating and burial in Lower Mound cemetery.
