ABERNATHY, Mary Julian - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mary Madeline Abernathy, 84, of Crawfordsville, di ed 10:35 a.m. Saturday Nov 6 1999 at Culver Union Hospital in Crawfordsville.  Born Oct 29 1915 in Cayuga she was the daughter of John Thurman and Lillian Whyde Julian.  She married Manford C. Abernathy Feb 23 1935, he preceded her in death Sept 27 1989.  She had been a resident of Crawfordsville since 1976.  Formerly of the Cooper's Chapel area south of Veedersburg, she was a member of the Wabash Twp, Birthday Club and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Survivors include: son, Lucky John (Sue) Abernathy, Ridgefield, NJ; daughters, Judy Brasker, Wingate and Sharon (Dale) Kunkel, Crawfordsville; sister, Mable M. Crowder, Crawfordsville; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, a son, four brothers and four sisters.  Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Wood and the Rev. J.P. Morgan officiating.  Burial was Tuesday in Cooper's Chapel Cemetery in Veedersburg.
