ABERNATHY, Lucille Davis - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Covington, Ind.  Mrs. Lucille B. Abernathy, 6 6, of Covington Route 1, died at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday Sept 25 1979 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville.  She had been a patient eight days. She retired in 1968 after 23 years with General Electric in Danville.  She was a member of the Perrysville Chapter 302 of the Order of the Eastern Star. A life resident of Wabash township, she attended Stringtown and Rabb schools. Born Sept 5, 1913 in Fountain County, she was the daughter of John and Josephine Allen Davis.  She was married on Aug 16, 1934 to Kenneth Abernathy, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Richard of Covington Route 1; a sister, Mrs. Ima Virginia Hoover of Veedersburg; her mother of Kingman Route 1; six grandchildren and three great grandchilden.  She was preceded in death by four brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating.   Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.   Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. – thanks to Betty D
