ZICK, Arthur - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Arthur Zick, age 49, who spent most of his life in Newtown died at his home here Thursday morning, Aug 9 at 7o'ock a victim of cancer. HE had been ill since Christmas and had undergone an operation early in January.

Mr. Zick was born at Frankfort, Ky Aug 23, 1896, moving to Newtown, during his boyhood.  His parents were William and Ella Zick.  On March 1, 1919, he married Lillian Schultz of Newtown.  Mr. Zick was a trustee of the Newtown Methodist Church and belonged to the Hopfield K of P Lodge No 433 and Richland F & AM Lodge No. 205.  

He is survived by his wife, one son, Neal Zick, recently honorably discharged from the Army after two years of service; one brother, Roy Zick of Attica and two sisters, Mrs. Leora Pearson of West Point and Mrs. Vest Dersch of Terre Haute. Funeral services were held at the Newtown Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at 2:30. The Rev. John Kirkpatrick of Indianapolis, former pastor of the church officiated and was assisted by the Rev. Arthur Powell, the present pastor.   --- transcribed by kbz
