Thomas Zackmire, 89, died at his home southeast of Kingman, Sunday morning (21 March) at 12:30 o'clock. Death was attributed to pneumonia. Born January 20, 1859, near Kingman, he was the son of Simon and Sophia Wendell Zackmire. He married Susan Bowers, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Shoaf of Attica and Mrs. Mary Allen of West Lebanon; and two sons, Ransom of Yeddo and Lonnie of Kingman.
Funeral services were held from the Spencer Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon March 23 at 2 o'clock and burial in the Zackmire cemetery. -- thanks to Betty D for this - transcribed by kbz

Thomas F. Zackmire, son of Simon and Sophia Wendell Zackmire, was born in Montgomery county, Indiana, January 29 1859., In 1865 the family moved near Russell Mills, Indiana, now Grange Corner. He spent his
entire life in this community; he outlived the Post Office.
On September 29 1880 he was united in marriage to Susan E. Bowers. To this union were born five children, Mrs. Lizzie Shoaf of Attica; Mrs. Mary Allen, Williamsport, Ind.; Lonnie of Kingman with whom he made his
home. Ransom of Yeddo and Mrs. Myrta Mcginnis who preceded him in death.
It was on Sunday morning March 21 1948 that the call came from the Master to depart for that better realm.
It is we who will miss a kind and loving neighbor, that has been with us so long. Though you have gone and your place left vacant, yet you will live on in our memory.
Those left to mourn his departure are a loving wife, four children, nineteen grandchildren, twenty eight Great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, a host of relatives, neighbors and friends. --- thanks to Betty D for this - transcribed by kbz
