ZACHARY, Clyde

Clyde A. Zachary, 68, Early, Tex and formerly of Montgomery & Fountain Counties, d. 7:40 p.m. Fri in his home. Mr. Zachary retired in 1989 as a switchman for Indiana Bell Telephone after 36 years. He was a major in the Ind National Guard, retiring after 22 years of service. He served at Crawfordsville and Indianapolis. His memberships included Hub Nut Camping Club, Sterling Christian Church, Fountain County Ham Radio operator, Fountain County Civil Defense director and was one of the founders of the Fountain County Emergency Medical Services. He was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School and the Indiana Military Academy. He was born February 19, 1934 at Crawfordsville to Forest and Sally McClaren Zachary. He married Mary Jane Cunningham on December 14, 1962 at Crawfordsville. She survives. Also surviving are 3 sons, Alan, Crawfordsville; Andy, Silverdale, Wash and Arthur, Early Tx; a sister, Esther Storer, Crawfordsville and 5 grandchildren. Two brothers, Lloyd and James and a sister, Mildred Stout are deceased. Funeral services are schedules for 11 a.m. Wednesday in Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington Street, Crawfordsville with the Rev. Jim Denman officiating. Burial will be in Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
