Willard E. Young of Veedersburg, age 57, died Wednesday evening, March 10, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born at Stone Bluff, April 22, 1924, the son of Oxford Wright and Lena Mae Hanley Young. July 14, 1946, he married Margaret Wanda Totheroh, who died October 2, 1976. He was married January 3, 1982, to Viola Elizabeth Mck, who survives. Young had farmed for several years and also worked at Harrison Steel Casting Company. He attended school in Stone Bluff and was a member of Veedersburg Church of the Nazarene.
Other survivors are two daughters, Donna Pigg of Newtown and Rita Floyd of RR 3, Veedersburg; a son, Larry of Melbourne, Florida; three stepdaughers, Linda Kay Woodrum, Sarah Ann Woodrum and Donna A. Woodrum, all of Veedersburg; a stepson, Richard Leroy Woodrum of Veedersburg; six sisters, Anna Farley of RR 1, Attica; Minnie E. Clardy and Ruth Eacret, both of RR 4, Veedersburg; Betty Karlson of Attica, Emma M. Geer of West Lebanon and Nina Payne of RR 1, Covington; eight grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
The body was taken from Maus Funeral Home in Attica to the Stone Bluff United Methodist Church for services Saturday afternoon with Rev. Wayne Hoover and Rev. William M. Dittmer officiating. Burial was in Osborne Prairie Cemetery near Stone Bluff. -s
