VEEDERSBURG—Mrs. Marie Augusta Young, 74, of Rt. 4, Veedersburg, died at 11 p.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. She had been in failing health three years, her condition becoming critical a week ago. Born in Wabash Township, Fountain County, on Aug. 29, 1894, she was a daughter of Owen and Elizabeth Johnson Isley. Her first marriage was to Herman Allen. She married Fred B. Young on June 23, 1922. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Helen Grady of Veedersburg and Miss Midred Allen, at home; a son, Donald Allen of Covington, and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Young was a member of the Old Kentuck Baptist Church. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sever Mortuary here, with Rev. William Wilhite the minister. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary. --typed by Walt W

Mrs. Young was born in Wabash Township, Fountain County, on Aug. 29, 1894, the daughter of Owen and Elizabeth Johnson Isley. She was united in marriage to Herman Allen and to this union three children were born, all surviving; Miss Mildred Allen, at home; Mrs. Helen Grady, Veedersburg, and Herman Donald Allen, Covington. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was later united in marriage to Fred B. Young, of Veedersburg, who preceded her in death. She spent most of her life in this area. She was a member of the Old Kentuck Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at Sever Mortuary, Chapel on the Hill Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Bill Wilhite officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery. - jlr
