Homer C. Young of Muncie, Ind retired employee of the Ontario Manufacturing Co died at Ball Hospital on Saturday Dec 5 after an extended illness. He was born Oct 20, 1878 in Veedersburg the son of Bloomer B. and Dora Helms Young.  He grew up in Veedersburg and attended Veedersburg schools. He was married to Jessie Lansan also of Veedersburg in 1900 and after her death a few later he married his surviving wife, Ruth. To this union two sons were born Homer Jr who was killed in the Battle of the Bulge and Gene of Muncie. Homer will be remembered as a member of the Little Jerseys baseball team which was very popular at the turn of the century. He was also a member of the Veedersburg band as was his father, BB Young. Besides his wife and son, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Carrie Ballard of Denver, Colo a brother Fred Young of Covington and three grandchildren. Funeral services and burial took place in Muncie. – kbz
