YOUNG, Auneta Yerkes - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Auneta Young, 83, Rt 1, Covington died at 2:37 a.m. Friday Nov 7 at Lakeview Medical Center, Danville, Ill. Death was sudden and unexpected. She was born Sept 14, 1903, in Cross Port, south of Covington, the daughter of WIlliam and Mary Walker Yerkes. She married Alva D. Young Jan 30, 1928. He died Aug 2, 1966. She was the youngest of 8 children and lived most of her life in the Cross Port area. She was a member of the West Liberty Church and Ladies Aide of the church. She was a farm wife and mother. She loved gardening and flowers. Surviving are two sons, Gene, Rt 1, Covington, and William H, Fairmount; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Lawless, Georgetown Il; Mrs. Ron (Virgina) Allen, Ft Wayne; Mrs. Charles (Treca M) Dunham, Covington and Mrs. Joan Frank, Tilton, Ill; a stepson, Wm. Elmo Young, Covington and 25 grandchildren and 26 greats. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, 3 sisters, a stepson and her parents. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Rev. Randy Collins and Dennis Young officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
