J. Lee Yocum, age 82 of Attica died at 9:50 a.m. Sunday May 15 at Home Hospital in Lafayette where he had been admitted six hours earlier. He had been in ill health several years.  Mr. Yocum had resided at Pleasant Valley lodge near Attica since last June. For many years, he operated an Attica bakery. When he retired several years ago he was director and clerk-treasurer of People’s Building and Loan in Attica.  He was born Dec 10, 1883 in Fountain County, the son of Jesse and Mary Trullinger Yocum.  On April 18, 1909, he was married Mabel Earl who preceded him in the death on Aug 15, 1965. He was a member of the Methodist Church where he formerly was a trustee and treasurer. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite and he was a past patron of the Attica Chapter, Order of Eastern star. Funeral services were held at 2p.m. Wednesday May 18 at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica. The Rev. Louis Haskell and the Rev. Thomas Stovall officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
