YERKES, Herbert W. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Camden - Herbert W. Yerkes, 78, died at 12:50 a.m. Thursday May 18 in the Brethren Healthcare Center, Flora. Mr. Yerkes was born Feb 10, 1917 at Deer Creek. His marriage was to Doraline Zook June 15, 1937 in Crawfordsville and she survives. A 1935 graduate of Camden HS he was owner of Yerkes Trucking Co, retiring in 1982. Mr. Yerkes was a member of the First Baptist Church at Camden, Sons of the American Legion Post 75  at Delphi, was a member and past president of the Camden Community Club and served on the Camden Town Board from 1960-1967.  Also surviving are a son, Jerry L. yerkes, Ft. Wayne; two brothers, Loyd and Robert both of Camden and sister, Donnabelle Lenon of Delphi.

Surviving are 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a stepgrandchild. Preceded in death by a brother, a sister. Memorial to First Baptist Church, Camden.
