West Point—Katherine Isabelle (Stoner) Vories, 87, 107 Morgan St., Hazelwood, N. C. died at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 1989 in Silver Bluff Nursing Center, Hampton, N. C. She had been in failing health two years and had been seriously ill the past two weeks.
She was born Sept. 2, 1901 in Kansas, the daughter of John and Carrie Kissell Stoner. She had lived in West Point 30 years before moving to Hazelwood in 1987. She was married in Indiana to John Ray Vories, who preceded her in death Jan. 18, 1988.
She was a registered nurse and was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center in Lafayette, before retiring in 1964. She attended Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Monticello and enjoyed sewing.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Betty A. Morgan, Hazelwood; one brother, Clifford C. Stoner, Santa Rosa, Calif.; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three sisters.
Friends may call at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, from 1 p.m. Saturday until time of service at 3 p.m. in Maus Chapel with Pastor Don Short of Lafayette officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. – thanks to S
