VEEDERSBURG — Susan R. (Curtis) Voorhees, 45, Veedersburg, died at 9:03 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007 in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born June 8, 1962 in Danville, Ill., the daughter of John and Carolyn (Ashcraft) Curtis. She married Joe Voorhees Oct. 17, 1981 in the Hillsboro Christian Church. He survives. She was raised in Hillsboro, graduating from Fountain Central High School in 1980. She had resided in Veedersburg for the past 26 years. She formerly worked as a waitress for 10 years at Maple Corner Restaurant in Covington. More recently she worked at Krupp-Gerlach in Danville. She was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church. She was a former member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority in Veedersburg. She enjoyed knitting, camping, fishing, and attending garage sales. She was an Indianapolis Colts fan. She had been active in the "Relay for Life.” Survivors, besides the husband, include: a son, Curtis Joseph “C. J.” Voorhees, Veedersburg; her parents of Hillsboro; a step daughter, Tiffany Vallie, Helena, Mont.; two brothers, John Parker “J. P.” (Valerie) Curtis, Sherburn, Minn. and David Neil (Niky) Curtis, Waynetown; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until service time at 7 p.m. tonight (Wednesday) in the Hillsboro Christian Church with Pastor Traci Weatherly officiating.
