The mother of Hon. DW Voorhees died at her home two miles southeast of Veedersburg on Saturday morning. She was near 90 years of age. A brother and sister of the senator are living which are all of the immediate relatives.

Mrs. Rachel Voorhees, aged 89, mother of Senator Voorhees, died at her near Veedersburg, on the 31st after an illness of many weeks. She was an estimable woman widely known and respected. Several times within recent months Senator Voorhees has been called from Washington by fear of her death but when the end came it found him confined to his own bed by sickness. The deceased was a resident of Fountain County for many years.
