Dean Voorhees of Hillsboro, age 60, died Thursday afternoon, September 22, at his home. He was born in Fountain County, December 7, 1922, the son of Donald H. and Elva Marie Brown Voorhees. March 1, 1944, he married Barbara Lucille Cox, who survives. He was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church and fire department. A 1940 graduate of Hillsboro High School, he was a Korean War veteran. Voorhees had retired in 1975 from construction work and owned a CB radio shop in Hillsboro.
Also surviving are two daughters, Betty Powell and Mary Ann Paris, both of Veedersburg; six sons, James D., Dale M. and Jerry W., all of Hillsboro, Larry R. and Daniel J., both of Veedersburg, and Thomas R. of Attica; his mother of Hillsboro; a brother, Donald of Orlando, Florida; a half brother, William A. of Hillsboro; and 17 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Thomas Inabinett officiating. Burial was in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. – thanks to S
