ATTICA — Nellie Mae (Suttle)
Burris Vilmin, 83, formerly of Attica and had been residing in Plano, Ill.,
died in the Mercy Hospital in Aurora, Ill., on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at
11 a.m. Nellie was born in Benton County, on November 3, 1924. She was the
daughter of the late John E. and Mary Haddock Suttle. She was raised and
educated in Warren County. She lived most of her adult life in Attica and Plano
until going into the nursing center in Aurora, four years ago. Nellie formerly
worked at Radio Material Corp. in Attica and later worked for Aurora Cord and
Cable in Yorkville, Ill. While living in Plano she had attended the Baptist
Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing latch hook rugs. She enjoyed
spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. On December 7,
1942, Nellie married Carroll E. Burris in Attica. He preceded her in death on
December 5, 1958. On August 19, 1967, Nellie married LaVerne Vilmin in Plano.
He also preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, David (Pat) Burris, Attica;
a daughter, Terri (Ed) Podschweit, Aurora; nine grandchildren, Ed (Kim) Burris,
Mikki (Kirt) Hubbard and Kevin (Trinella) Burris of Attica; twins Taylor and
Kendall Podschweit, Aurora; Trish (Alan) Russell, Dee (Johnnie) Jones, Kim
(Somchi) Hampton and Aaron Burris, all of Grove City, Ohio; and twelve great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, John and Bobby Dean
Burris. Visittaion was Saturday, November 24, service followed with Rev. David
Adams officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in the Riverside
