Veedersburg – Ralph G. Verhey, 71 of Rt 4, Stone Bluff, Veedersburg, died at 1:51 p.m. Sunday in Community Hospital, Williamsport. Born in Richland Township, Fountain County, June 9, 1915, he formerly lived in Attica and Newtown before moving to Stone Bluff in 1959. He attended school in Rob Roy. Mr. Verhey worked as a grinder at Harrison Steel Castings Co for 31 years. He also was engaged in farming. His marriage was May 2, 1936 in Attica to Mabel Martha Kunkle. She died July 20, 1973. Surviving are two sons, Everett D. Verhey of Rt 4, Veedersburg and Lawrence E. Verhey of Rt 3, Veedersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Ormal “Sis” Furr of Attica and Mrs. John (Marjorie) King of Lexington, Ky; five brothers, Lawrence Verhey of Crawfordsville; Francis, Bernard and Howard Verhey all of Attica and Harry Verhey of Wingate; also three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Louise) Cooper of Sterling, Ind; Mrs. Christine Pearson of Newtown and Mrs. Arthur (Irene) Spence of Attica.

“Funeral Services” – VERHEY, Ralph G – Friends will be received at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Service in Maus Chapel 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Duane Craycraft officiating. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Surviving are 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild.

He was born in RIchland Twp, Fountain Co June 9, 1915 son of August W and Mary Serie Verhey. He had formerly lived in Attica and Newtown, and has been a resident of Stone Bluff since 1959. He married May 2, 1936 in Attica Mabel Martha Kunkle, who preceded him in death July 20, 1973. He had attended school at Rob Roy had been a grinder at Harrison Steel Castings Co, Attica for about 31 years and had formerly farmed. Surviving are two sons, Everett Verhey, Rt 4, Veedersburg and Lawrence E. Verhey Rt 3, Veedersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Ormal (Sis) Furr, Attica and Mrs. John (Marjorie) King, Lexington KY; 5 brothers, Lawrence, Crawfordsville; Francis, Bernard, Howard all of Attica and Harry of Wingate; 3 sisters, Mrs. Robert (Louise) Cooper, Sterling; Mrs. Christine Pearson, Newtown and Mrs. Arthur (Irene) Spence, Attica 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today (Tuesday). Funeral services wil be in the Maus Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Duane Craycraft officiating.
