Veedersburg, Ind – Mrs. Mabel Martha Verhey, 55 of Veedersburg, Rt 4, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette at 9:50 p.m. Friday July 20, 19973 where she had been a patient for three days. She had been ill for 10 years and seriously ill the past six months. Born Nov 4, 1917 in Attica, she was the daughter of Garfield and Alma Workinger Kunkle. She was married May 2, 1936 in Attica to Ralph Verhey, a farmer and works at Harrison Steel Casting Co. in Attica. He survives. A life resident of Fountain County, Mrs. Verhey attended Attica schools and was a housewife. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Eagles and of the Moose in Attica. Other survivors include two sons, Everette D. of Veedersburg Rt 4 and Lawrence E at home; two daughters, Mrs. Ormal Furr and Mrs. Marjorie Burke, both of Attica; two sisters,, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Johnson and Mrs. Hollie (Ethel) Knowles both of Attica; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica, with the Rev. Everett White officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Attica. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. – kbz
