Leo J. Verhey was born in Holland Nov 9 1864 an ddeparted from this world Feb 16 1929 at the Lake View Hospital in Danville, Ill. When 26 years sof age he was united in marriage to Emma Rooze of Holland and to this union were born 16 children, 9 of whom died in infancy. 37 years ago Mr. Verhey came to the US and settled near Attica where he resided until death. Mr. Verhey was a splendid neighbor, loving husband and devoted father and his demise will be gratly and sincerely mourned by all those who knew him. Besides the widw the following children survive 3 daughters, Mrs. Victor McCool of Lafayette, Mrs. Charles VanHyfte who lives near Attica and iMss Florence who is still at home, four sons, August, Charles and Frank Verhey of Attica and John of Lafayette. He also leaves 22 grandchildren and two brothers, Al of Lafayette and Pete of Holland and 3 sisters, Mrs. Albert Bruyckere of Niles, Michigan, Mrs. Jake Kerkhove of Montmorenci and Mrs. Charles E. Smith of Holland.
