Montezuma—Edward E. Vandevender, 69, Montezuma, died at 11:58 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 1989, at Vermillion County Hospital, Clinton.
He was born Oct. 4, 1919 in Cayuga, the son of Pearl Edward and Clara LaVina Murdock Vandevender.
He was a retired construction worker and a member of Covington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are his wife, Mavis; six sons, Dale and Danny Joe, Montezuma; David, West Terre Haute; Ron and Don, Anderson, and Eddie, Westville; two daughters, Charlene O’Malley, Chrisman, Ill., and Ruth Brown, Montezuma; a brother, John, Montezuma; three sisters, Edna McKinney, Watseka, Ill.; June Jones, Cayuga, and Fern Griffin, Montezuma.
Funeral services were Saturday at Brown Funeral Home, Montezuma, with the Rev. David Thomas officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. -s
