Attica - Funeral services were held at 9 a. m. Friday, Dec. 28, at the St. Francis Xavier Church for Mrs. Sophia Pearl Van Dame, age 78, of 106 W. Monroe St., who died at 1:30 p. m. Monday, Dec. 24, in the Community Hospital at Williamsport. She had been in ill health two years and hospitalized a month. The Rev. Charles Remacklus officiated. Burial was in the St. Francis Cemetery with the DeSutter Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Van Dame was born July 18, 1884 in Holland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dobbels Pearl. She was married to Charles Van Dame and he preceded her in death in 1943. Survivors include five sons, Harold, Joseph, and Clarence of Attica, Floyd of Winamac and Ralph of Fargo, N. D.; three daughters, Bernice at home, Mrs. Joseph LeClair and Mrs. Bernard Verhey, both of Boswell; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. --typed by Walt W
