West Lafayette—Pete Valare, 89, 1320 N. Grant St., West Lafayette, died unexpectedly at 4:33 a.m. Sunday, March 12, 1989, in Home Hospital, Lafayette.
  He was born Aug. 16, 1899 in Ausberg, The Netherlands. He was married Dec. 18, 1924 to Leota Doyle, who survives.
  He came to the United States in 1900 and had resided in the Romney and west Point communities most of his lifetime. From 1935 until 1950, he owned and operated the DX Service Station at the corner of Tenth and Ferry Streets.
  He was a member of the Jenks’s Rest Senior Citizens.
  Surviving besides his wife are a half sister, Mrs. Anna VanDame, Attica, and several nieces and nephews.
  Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Hippensteel Chapel with the Rev. Herbert Wingard officiating. Entombment will be in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum. – thanks to S
