Waynetown Oct 12 - Mrs. Elvina S. Underwood, 70, wife of Edward E. Underwood died at 1:15 o'clock this afternoon at her home in Waynetown. She had been in declining health for the past years and was seriously ill for 8 weeks with heart trouble. Mrs. Underwood was born May 28, 1864, in Jackson Twp, Fountain County the daughter of Mathias and Catherine Marsh Livengood. She was married Dec 20, 1883 to Edward E. Underwood, who survives. She had lived in Waynetown for the past 14 years residing on a farm near here prior to that time. She was a member of the Waynetown Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to the husband are a daughter, Mrs. John Robinson of Waynetown; a son, Albert Z. Underwood of Crawfordsville, Montgomery County recorder; a granddaughter, Catherine Underwood of Crawfordsville and 4 sisters, Mrs. Addison Bell of Yeddo; Mrs. C.R. Thomas and Mrs. Miles A. Ratcliff, both of Hillsboro and Mrs. Earl Wilkinson of Crawfordsville. Short rites for the family only will be held at the Underwood home at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon. The body will then be taken to the Waynetown Methodist Church at 1:30 o'clock where it will lie in state until 2 o'clock when funeral services will be held in charge of Rev. Guy E. Tremaine. Burial will be at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
