Twiddy Nancy Wood-Twiddy "Mrs James Twiddy Passes Away Sunday" "Nannie" (Nancy) Wood-Twiddy, daughter of William and Susan Wood, was born in Fountain County, September 16, 1866 and departed this life, after a lonf illness, at her home in Covington, November 26, 1933, aged 67 years, two months and ten days. She was united in marriage with James Twiddy in Covington, May 7, 1892, to this union two sons were born, one preceding her in death fifteen years ago. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Hillsboro, Indiana, early in life, later uniting with what was then known as the New Light Christian Church in Mellott. After moving to Covington, she placed her membership with the Methodist Episcopal church and continued a faithful member until transferred to the church triumphant. She was a loving wife, an indulgent mother, a faithful christian and a good neighbor. She is survived by her husband, one son Elwood of Columbus, Ohio, a stepson, Lloyd of Attica, two sisters, Miss Belle Wood and Mrs. Mary Cecil, both of Mellott, a brother, James F. Wood of Bakersfield, California and many other relatives and friends all of whom mourn her departure. The funeral services were held from the home on North Fifth Street in Covington and from the First Methodist Episcopal church on Tuesday afternoon, November 28 at 2 o'clock. Her pastor, the Reverend A. L. Brandenburg officiated and the interment was made in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. James Twiddy, 67, died at her home in Covington Monday morning at 9:30 o’clock following an illness of two years.  Born at Mellott, she was the daughter of William and Susan Wood, marrying James Twiddy 41 years ago. Surviving are two sons, Lloyd at Attica and Elwood of Columbus; one brother, James of California and two sisters, Miss Isabelle Wood and Mrs. Mary Cicle (sic - Cecil) both of Mellott.  Funeral services with the Rev AL Brandenburg officiating were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with burial in Mount Hope cemetery. – kbz
