WINGATE — Floyd Omer Twiddy, 68, town marshal and superintendent of the waterworks here since 1951, was found dead at 7 a.m. Wednesday. He apparently was reading the meter outside the home of Hubert Irvin when he was stricken and died. He had a heart condition. Irvin found the body. Born a mile west of here in Fountain County, he was a life resident of the area and was an airplane mechanic in World War I. He retired from Nickel Plate Railroad employment in 1948. A Wingate High School graduate, he was married in 1922 to Fern Butcher, who died in 1932. He was married in 1936 to Blanche Gardner at Trilla, Ill. He was a member of the Methodist Church, American Legion and old IOOF Lodge. Surviving with the widow are a son, Donald of Ft. Knox, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Miss Mary Gardner of Crawfordsville, and two sisters, Miss Freeda Twiddy of Wingate and Mrs. Samuel Davidson of Crawfordsville. --typed by Walt W
