Mrs. Fern Twiddy, aged 36 years wife of Floyd Twiddy who resides one mile northwest of Wingate died at 12:45 o’clock Sunday morning at Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville of peritonitis which followed an operation for an abdominal abscess Friday morning. Mrs. Twiddy was born Feb 21, 1896 near Lizton the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Scott. She was married to Floyd Twiddy in August 1921. She was a member of the Wingate Christian Church. Those surviving are a son, Richard Butcher of a former marriage living at home; Mrs. Twiddy’s father, Lee Scott also at home and a brother, Raymond Scott of Indianapolis. The body was taken to the home shortly after death. Services were conducted from the Christian Church at Wingate at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon with Rev. JE Fry of Mellott, pastor of the church officiating. Burial was at the Methodist Cemetery in Wingate. - kbz
