MELLOTT — Mrs. Phyllis Eleanor Turner, 37-year-old former resident of this community, died at 9 p. m. Friday in a Lafayette hospital. She resided in Mulberry. Born June 6, 1926 at Lafayette, she was a daughter of Russell and Irene Wiggins Coffman. She was married Jan. 3, 1945 to Basil Turner of Lafayette. They were married at Carlsbad, N. M. Mrs. Turner was a member of the Methodist Church at Mulberry and American Legion Auxiliary at Fowler. She was employed by the Lafayette Journal & Courier. Survivors include her parents, who reside here; her husband, a son, Thomas, at home; a daughter, Sandra, at home; a brother, Harold E. Coffman of Champaign, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Shirley Leonard of Fowler; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Wiggins of Mellott. The body was taken to Johnson Funeral Home at Mulberry where services were conducted at 2 p.m. today. Interment was in Fair Haven Cemetery at Mulberry.   --typed by Walt W

Mrs. Phyllis Eleanor Turner, 37, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Coffman of Mellott, died in a Lafayette Hospital last Friday.  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Johnson Funeral Home in Mulberry where she and her husband, Basil Turner, have resided.  She had been hospitalized three weeks.  She was a bookkeeping machine operator for the  Lafayette Journal and Courier.
Mrs. Turner was born on June 6, 1926, in Lafayette and was married to Basil Turner, also of Lafayette, on Jan. 3, 1945, in Carlsbad New Mexico.  She was a member of the Mulberry Methodist Church and also of the American Legion Auxiliary of Fowler.
Survivors besides the husband and parents include a son, Thomas, and a daughter, Sandra, both at home; a brother, Harold E. Coffman, of Champaign, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Shirley Leonard of Fowler, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. .and Mrs. Thomas L. Wiggins of Mellott.
