TURNER, Hubert C - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

  Hubert C. Turner of RR 1, Perrysville, age 79, died Friday morning, January 28, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born at Sneedville, Tennessee, January 4, 1904, the son of John Lewis and Martha Baylor Turner. December 18, 1925, he married Laura Snyder, who survives. He had worked as a coal miner at Sneedville but had been a farmer most of the time since coming to Vermillion County in 1925.

  Other survivors are five daughters, Arlene Snyder and Annabeth Stark, both of Danville, Sonna Crowder and Mary Lou Morris, both of Covington, and Naomi Hershberger of Veedersburg; three sons, Clarence of Covington, Lewis of Kingman and Max of LaGrange Park, Illinois; two brothers, Grady of Sneedville and Dana of Indianapolis; 16 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, six great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Paul Ray Jr. officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park at Danville, Illinois. – thanks to s
