Williamsport—Alva E. Turner, 67, Argyle, Ky., died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, June 23, 1989 at Casey County Hospital, Liberty, Ky.
  He was born July 2, 1921 in Casey County, the son of Thomas G. and Elizabeth Wilkerson Turner. He had lived in Warren County several years before returning to Kentucky. He was first married Nov. 29, 1945 in Kentucky to Emma Gertrude Lanham, who preceded him in death in 1973. He was married Aug. 16, 1976 at Liberty, Ky., to Geretha Gay Buis, who survives.
  He was a retired farmer and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
  Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Lee, Brookston, and E. G., Lafayette; three daughters, Lou Williamson and Mary Ragland, both of Sheridan, and Sue Jasper, West Lafayette; one brother, Logan, Dunnville, Ky.; one sister, Zimmer Dye, Columbia Ky., and 10 grandchildren.
  Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Highland Cemetery, Williamsport.
  Fisher Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
