Leslie “Stitt” Truman, 83, Covington, died at 7:59 Tuesday, October 18, at Covington Manor Nursing Home where he had been a patient for four years.

  He was born April 9, 1900 near Tree Springs in Vermillion County, the son of Ernest and Grace White Truman.

  He graduated from Covington High School in 1918 and had been a milk hauler for Producers Dairy in Danville for several years. He was employed by Crist’s Superior Coach Company at Perrysville for 17 years. A World War I Army veteran he also served with the Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He was a member of Fountain County Old Guard VFW Post 2395.

  Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Mary Alice Randolph of Covington. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Mitchell.

  Services were conducted today (Thursday) at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Robert H. Miller officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington. – s-
