Veterans Home – Reuben E. Troxel, 87 of Indiana Veterans Home, West Lafayette died there at 6:25 p.m. Saturday. He had been a patient at the Home since 1976. Born in Champaign County, Ill, May 24, 1897 he formerly lived at Rt 1, West Point and the Attica area. He was married May 19, 1920 in Hillsboro, Ohio to Nellie Bell Martin. She died May 24, 1976. He farmed for many years worked as a custodian for Logan Twp School in Fountain Co for some time and also employed at the Fountain County Highway Dept. Mr. Troxel served in the Army during WWI. He was a member of Indiana Veterans Chapel and American Legion Post 492 both in West Lafayette. Surviving are a son, Wayman “Bud” Troxel of Rt 1, West Point; two daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Margaret) Jeffries and Mrs Mildred Shillis, both of Hillsboro, Ind and a sister, Mrs. Carl (Vivian) Hansen of Cloverdale.
