Sam Trott, a former resident of Shawnee Township, this county died Sunday morning at 8 o’clock at his home near Cedar Springs, Mich. Death was caused by dropsy of which he had been ill about a year. Mr. Trott moved from this county to Michigan first about 14 years ago. He lost his wife by death two years ago that February and her body was brought back and buried in Beulah cemetery. In Sept following the death of his wife he moved back to Shawnee Township and left his farm in Michigan to be managed by his children. A year ago last August he returned to Michigan where he continued to reside until his death. The deceased was about 67 years old and is survived by two sons and two daughters – Tom Trott who resides near West Lebanon; Mrs. Curtis Beach, Miss Mabel Trott and Peter Trott who resides near Cedar Springs, Mich. James Harper of Warren County is a half brother, Mrs. Hugh Schafer of this city a niece, Jack Clawson of this city and WH Clawson of Rob Roy are brothers-in-law of the decedent. Sam Trott was well known throughout this section of Fountain County, he having resided in Shawnee Township for many years. He was a man of strict honesty and integrity and was highly esteemed by all who came in contact with him. The body was brought to this city Tuesday afternoon arriving on Wabash passenger train #1 due here at 4:15 o’clock. The corpse was taken to the home of WH Clason, a brother-in-law of the decedent in Rob Roy where it will rest until 10 o’clock this morning at which time the funeral will be conducted from the Beaulah Church. Burial will be made in the Beulah cemetery.
