Mable Townsend, 98,
Covington, died at 7:50 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2000 in her residence. Born
on March 5, 1902 in Veedersburg, she was the daughter of the late John and
Jennie (Allen) Price. A homemaker, her marriage was to Joseph T. Townsend on
December 31, 1925 in Newport. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1972. She
was a resident of Wabash Township most of her life and a member of Coopers
Chapel Church. She had been ill the past three years. Surviving, are: a
daughter, Marie Denhart of Covington; a grandson, David Denhart of Bloomington,
Ill.; and a great-grandson, Thomas Paul Denhart of Covington. She was also
preceded in death by a brother, Archie Price. Visitation from 4-8 p.m. Thursday
at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Service there on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev.
James Shaw officiating. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington. – jlr
