TOWNSEND, James

James Townsend, 54, Farmer and foundry worker who was employed at the Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica, died in
the State Hospital at Logansport, at 6:10 am. Wednesday.  The funeral was held at the DeSutter Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday, conducted by Rev. Louis Haskell, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Attica with interment in the Old Baptist Cemetery.
He was born January 9, 1909, in South Dakota, the son of Robert and Iva Freeman Townsend.  He was married May 2, 1935, to Anna Anno, who died July 8, 1955.  Survivors are a son, James Allen Townsend, Jr., of the US. Army; three daughters, Mrs. Donald Little of Tab; Mrs. Dale Livengood of Attica, and Mrs. Barbara Grant of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and nine grandchildren.
