Charles Cecil Toby, 52, brother of Mrs. William ( Maurine) Morton, 1002 Liberty St., in this city, died at 6:50 p. m., Saturday, May 4, in Williamsport Community Hospital. He had been admitted to the hospital on Friday morning, and had been in ill health for the past five years. He was born August 18, 1904, in Perrysville, the son of Henry Clay and Clara VanDeventer Toby. He was married in 1935 to Vera Lorretta Sowers, in Perrysville, who survives. He had been associated with the meat department of Grab-It-Here stores in Attica, Williamsport, and Rockville, for 11 years. Surviving in addition to his wife and his sister, Mrs. Morton, are two daughters, Joy and Jean, both at home; three brothers, John of Lockport, N. Y., Frank and Gary of Danville and another sister, Mrs. Rachel Landes of Royal Center. Services were held at the Roemer Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday afternoon, May 7, at 2 p. m. Dr. Harry Campbell officiated and burial was in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery. --typed by Walt W

Attica – Charles Cecil Toby, 52, a resident here, died at
6:50 p.m. Saturday in Community Hospital, Williamsport, where he had been a
patient four days following a heart attack.
Born near Perrysville, he was a retired butcher, having been employed in
groceries in Attica and Williamsport. He
was married in 1935 5o Vera Loretta Sowers. Surviving with the widow are two
daughters, Joy and Jean, both at home; three brothers, John of Lockport, NY;
Frank of Gary and Fred of Danville, Ill; and two sisters, Mrs. Maurine Morton f
Covington and Mrs. Rachel Landes of Royal Center. - kbz
