Della Glover Tinsley daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Young Glover was born on a farm near Covington, Indiana on Dec 2, 1864. While yet a young girl her family moved to Hillsboro. During her girlhood days she united with the Christian Church under the pastorate of John C. Myers. On July 30, 1891, she was married to Charles H. Tinsley of this place. To this union one child, a little boy was born who died in infancy, her health being impaired at this time to such an extent that she never fully recovered. After her marriage she and her husband began housekeeping in Hillsboro and lived here a number of years, her husband being engaged in the hardware business. Selling out here she and her husband moved to Covington, Indiana where Mr. Tinsley continued in the hardware business. After several years he sold out his hardware business and took up the business of traveling salesman, making their home in Kansas City, Mo and Detroit, Mich these places being his headquarters. About five years ago her husband gave up his position on the road and they moved back to Hillsboro, their first home. Here they bought themselves a beautiful home on Main Street and prepared to spend their remaining years with their old friends, all of whom were glad to welcome them back here. As they were living in happiness and contentment, their good friends little dreamed that a sad tragedy was so soon to take this good neighbor and loving friend from among them but such is fate. On Friday evening, March 4, on hurrying to answer a call of her husband she fell into the basement of her home and received fatal injuries. She was immediately removed to Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where everything was done that good doctors, a loving husband and kind friends could do to save her. She passed away Monday evening, March 21 about 5:30 o’clock at the age of 67 years, 3 months and 19 days, leaving to mourn her loss a loving husband, one sister, Mrs. Clara Carwile of near Covington, Indiana one brother, Obe Glover of Beeville, Texas and a number of relatives and a host of friends. – kbz
