Robert A. Tinder, 49 of Kingman Rt 2 was found dead at 5:30 p.m. Sunday Sept 25, 1960 at his home.  Fountain County coroner Ralph Nelson of Veedersburg conducted an investigation and attributed death to a self-inflicted gun shot wound.  Born June 11, 1911 at Howard, Ind he was the son of Alonzo and Ida Mae Cory Tinder. Survivors include two sons, Leroy at home and William of Danville; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Murray of Danville; Mrs. Shirley Edwards of Danville Rural Route and Rosemary at home; a brother, Gordon of Danville; four sisters: Mrs. Esther Harper of Cayuga; Mrs. Mabel Mikels of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Opal Edwards of Veedersburg and Mrs. Mary Darling of Brownsburg and 8 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Howard-Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Allen Montgomery officiated with burial in Miller Cemetery. – kbz
