TINDER, Lewis

Lewis, son of Simeon and Sarah Hackney Tinder, was born in Woodford Co KY Sept 8, 1853. When about 1 1/2 years he moved with his parents to Indiana; they making their home just south of Hillsboro. Nine years later they moved to their farm about two miles NW of Steam Corner, where he made his home until after his marriage when in 1883, he moved with his family to his present home. April 15, 1877, he married Roseta Drollingr. Of their family of six children 3 boys have preceded their father in death: Walter and Arthur dying in infancy and Roy at age 7. The surviving children, Mrs. Arnet Robinson, Mrs. Arch Williams and Arley, a son, remain and with their mother hold dear the memory of a devoted father and husband. There are also 3 grandchildren, Dalena and Leona Robinson and Harold Lee Williams. Besides his immediate family he leaves two brothers, David and Alonzo and one sister, Mrs. Mary Babb; also one half-brother, William Hutchins and one half sister, Mrs. Lucy Booe. The people of his community regarded him in an excellent neighbor, man of strong character and useful and patriotic citizen. As the result of a tragic accident he died Feb 28, 1921.
