James Leroy Tibbett, 26 of Lodi was killed instantly about 6:50 p.m. Monday when his car and a freight train collided at the Nickel Plate Railroad crossing at Silverwood. Tibbett was returning home from work on a farm near Covington when the accident occurred. There apparently were no witnesses. Funeral services were held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Free Holiness Church of Lodi. The Rev. Joe Bush, pastor of the church and Rev. Calvin Rumley, pastor of the Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Miller Cemetery. He was born April 14, 1927 at Lodi son of Curtis and Bessie Reed Tibbett. Surviving in addition to the parents are three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Gossett of Danville, Ill. Mrs. Lois Little of Bloomindale and Mrs. Frances Livengood of Attica and two brother, Wayne of Georgetown and Robert at home. He was a member of the Nazarene Church at Fowler. – kbz
