THORNTON THOMPSON died at his home southwest of here Monday morning from gangrene. He was 82 years old and is survived by five children, three boys and two girls. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. J. Marshall Wednesday, interment being made in the Silver Island cemetery. Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the Civil war and had been an inmate at the Lafayette soldier’s home most of the time since the death of his wife. - S
