Otterbein—Louise Shoaf Thompson, 81, Route 2, Otterbein, died at 1:52 p.m. Monday, April 3, 1989, in the emergency room at Home Hospital, Lafayette. She had been ill three weeks.
She was born June 1, 1907 in Orleans. She was first married Dec. 24, 1928, to Arthur Eugene Shoaf, who preceded her in death Jan. 7, 1957. In 1974, she married William Thompson, who preceded her in death in 1984.
She was a homemaker and a life resident of the Lafayette area. She was a member of Green Hill Community Church and Ladies Aid of the church.
Surviving are two sons, Jim Shoaf, Green Hill, and John Shoaf, Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. John (Anna) Sell, Terre Haute, and Linda Vaughan, Silver Springs, Md.; a brother, Gene Nash, Williamsport; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday in Hippensteel Funeral Home Chapel, Lafayette, with the Rev. Eugene Rapson officiating. Burial was in Armstrong Chapel Cemetery. – thanks so much to S
