MARSHFIELD — Kenneth Eugene Thompson, 77, Marshfield, died at 9:40 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2006 in The Waters of Covington, following a two month battle with a brain tumor. He was born May 1, 1929 in Judyville, the son of Chester W. and Lola (Baird) Thompson. He married Evelyn Marie Morlan Sept. 19, 1951 in Marshfield. She survives. He was a 1947 graduate of Williamsport High School. He was a lifelong resident of Warren County. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Conrad Grain in Marshfield. He later worked for Lauhoff Grain Co. in Danville, Ill., retiring in 1992. He was a member of Williams Chapel. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting old farm equipment. Survivors, besides the wife, include: several nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Melvin (Janie) Morlan, Marshfield; three brothers, Dwain (June) Thompson, West Lebanon, Carroll (Arlene) Thompson, Hillsboro, Texas, and Bill (Hazel) Thompson, Greer, S.C., and two sisters, Judy (Jerry) Bland, Dallas, Texas, and Janet Wright, Catlin, Ili. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday in Grady Funeral Home, West Lebanon, with the Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Burial was in West Lebanon Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial donations may be made to Williams Chapel. – jlr
