THOMPSON, Helen McCollum - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Helen H. Thompson of Hillsboro, age 76, died Thursday evening, March 24, in Ben Hur Nursing Home at Crawfordsville. She was born near Wallace, December 4, 1906, the daughter of Charles and Bessie McCollum. April 8, 1942, she married Kenneth Thompson, who survives.

  Mrs. Thompson was a licensed practical nurse and her 35-year career included work with Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville, hospitals in Danville, Illinois, and nursing homes in Crawfordsville. A graduate of Wallace High School, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Hillsboro and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary at Crawfordsville.

  Also surviving are a daughter, Patricia Pritchard of Roachdale; two grandchildren who had reared, Connie Jo and Candy Thompson, both of Hillsboro; and a foster sister, Edith Brickey of Romney.

  Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Stephen Denehie officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery at Hillsboro. – thanks to S
