VEEDERSBURG — Elmer L. Thompson, 84, of Rt. 1, Veedersburg, died at 2 p.m. Sunday at Care Nursing Home at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient the past 10 days. Mr. Thompson had been ill about four years. Mr. Thompson was a former Fountain County surveyor and had served two terms as Fountain County assessor. For 20 years he was a member of the Fountain County Board of Review. He was educated at Hillsboro and a member of Masonic Lodge 385 at Hillsboro and the Hillsboro Methodist Church. He was born March 8, 1884, at Hillsboro, a son of Andrew and Luticia (Denman) Thompson. He was reared by his grandmother, Mrs. Susanna Salle. On April 11, 1938, he was married to Edith Glascock. Surviving are the widow; a brother, Guy of Los Angeles, and a sister, Mrs. Faye Nutt of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home at Hillsboro with Rev. Arthur Schenck officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. VEEDERSBURG - Elmer L. Thompson, age 84, of Veedersburg Rt. 1, died at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, in the Danville Care Nursing Home where he had been a patient 10 daysi.  He had been in failing health four years.
Mr. Thompson was born in Hillsboro, March 8, 1884 the son of Andrew and Luticia Denman Thompson.  Mr. Thompson
lived most of his early life with his grandmother, Mrs. Susanna Clodfelter Salle.  He was married April 11, 1938, to Edith Glasscock, who survives.
A member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church and Masonic Order 385 of Hillsboro, Mr. Thompson was a former surveyor of Fountain County.  He served two terms as Fountain County assessor and for 20 years was a member of the Fountain County Board of Review.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are: one brother, Guy Thompson of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Faye Nutt of Crawfordsville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Burial was in Rockfield  Cemetery where graveside Masonic rites were conducted.
