THOMAS, Rovene Rhodenbaugh - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

VEEDERSBURG — Rovene Thomas, 83, Veedersburg, died at 1:25 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001 in The Waters of Covington. She was born Feb. 16, 1918 in Parke County, the daughter of Perry and Mable Pearman Rhodenbaugh. She married Harold A. Thomas May 8, 1939 in Rockville. He preceded in death in 1989. She was a cook for 25 years at the former Sunny Inn Restaurant in Veedersburg. Survivors include: five daughters, Vinnie Wilkinson, Mellott, Sue Cox and Nancy Miller, both of Veedersburg, Janice Deffenbaugh, Hume, ill and Leila Smith, Rockville; five sons, Ronnie Thomas, Tangier, Michael Thomas, Mellott, David Thomas, Veedersburg, Steven Thomas, Crawfordsville and Robert Chilcote, Crawfordsville; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and a son. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday in Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with the Rev Gary McDonald officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg. – jlr
