Hillsboro -- James E. Thomas, 82, retired farmer and life resident of near HIllsboro, died Thursday afternoon after an illness of 2 1/2 years. He was a son of Frank and Sibbie Chapman Thomas and was born Oct 23, 1887 near Prairie Chapel south of Hillsboro. He attended school there and at Hillsboro HS. He was married December 22, 1915 to Gladys Epperson in her home north of Waynetown. Mr. Thomas was a member of Prairie Chapel Church, Wallace Lodge 495, F&AM and Wallace Low 12 Club. Surviving are his wife, 3 daughters, Miss Wandaline E. Thomas of Tipton, Mrs. Kenneth (Alberta) Dickerson of Newtown and Mrs. Lee (Patsy) Ellis of Waynetown; a granddaughter and a great granddaughter. Funeral services wil be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Crumley-Williams Funeral Home with Revs. James Whitaker and Walter Williams officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
