Veedersburg—Harold A. Thomas, 80, 208 Home St., Veedersburg, died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1989 at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville, Ill.
He was born July 6, 1908 in Rossville, Ill., the son of William O. and Mary Ella Shawhan Thomas. He was married May 8, 1939 at Rockville, to Rovene Rhodenbaugh, who survives.
He retired from Mid-States in Crawfordsville in 1974.
Surviving besides his wife are five daughters, Vinnie Wilkinson, Mellott; Sue Cox, Veedersburg; Janice Deffenbaugh, Hume, Ill.; Leila Meek, Waxahachie, Texas, and Nancy Miller, Waveland; four sons, Ronnie, Tangier; Michael, Westville, Ind., and David and Steven, Veedersburg; one stepson, Robert Chilcote, Crawfordsville; one sister, Thelma Stanfield, Gary; one brother, Charles, Saginaw, Mich.; 34 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and several step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, one sister and two brothers.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today (Friday) at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg. Funeral services will be there at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. William Nickles officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery.
