Danville, Ill.—Amelia Blanche Thomas, 91, Danville, died at 10:02 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 1989 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 7, 1897 in Danville, the daughter of Tom C. and Emma Campbell Thomas.

  She taught for 46 years in Danville schools. She was principal at Grant School for five years, McKinley School for 37 years, Franklin School for a year and Washington School for four years. She retired in June 1962.

  She was a member of the Lincoln United Methodist Church since 1919. She was a member of Iris Chapter, OES, Delta Kappa gamma Sorority, where she was treasurer for 12 years, American Association of University Women, where she was treasurer for two years, and Vermilion County Retired Teachers Association.

  Surviving are a niece, Mildred Jahnke, Hillsboro, and a great niece, Karen Astell, West Lebanon.

  Private funeral services were at Spring Hill Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. William Molloy officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.    Barrick & Son was in charge of arrangements. – thanks to S
